2005-2006: Associate professor, Norwegian Information Security Laboratory, Gjøvik University College, Norway. Part-time position from 2006 onward.
2005-present: Senior scientist at the security technology department at Fraunhofer-IGD, a German national research laboratory. Responsible for the department's research in the areas of information assurance and critical infrastructure protection.
2002-2005: Deputy department head of the Security Technology Department at Fraunhofer-IGD, a German national research laboratory. Principal scientist and head of information assurance group.
1998-2002: Research staff member in the security technology department at Fraunhofer-IGD.

Courses Developed

Information Security and Security Architecture: Developed graduate course (3 hours / week of lectures plus 3 hours / week of exercises, 1 semester) including slide sets.
Sicherheit in mobilen Ad-hoc-Netzen: Developed graduate (Hauptdiplom) seminar (2 hours / week, 1 semester, in German and English) including seminar notes.
Netzwerksicherheit: Developed graduate (Hauptdiplom) course (2 hours / week, 1 semester, in German) including lecture notes (475 pp.), viewgraphs, and written and oral exams.

The updated lecture notes were the basis for the textbook Netzwerksicherheit.
